A quick recap of the week

week review 2009-03-13

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ A Siena poll reported that more than half of respondents said "what's going on in Albany" is making them embarrassed to be New Yorkers.

+ Amy shared some local jeweler recommendations.

+ Sebastien, B and Paul's Urban Decay Tour of the (Greater) Capital Regionâ„¢ continued with a stop in Amsterdam.

+ Eat this: the artichoke, goat cheese and potato spring rolls at Cella Bistro.

+ Dan asked about where to find a suit tailor.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: John Sweeney, ice cream, a mustache party, burritos, eggs, soda bread, Amtrak, Schodack Island, garbage, hats, a national title and turkey.

+ We talked with local actor/producer/director/writer/editor Kevin Craig West.

+ The state released graduation rates for high schools and we broke out the numbers for school districts in the Capital Region.

+ Outdoor ice cream stand season is here again!

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: worthwhile company, high-end boa constrictors, a Barney Rubble impersonator and a coach for, uh, the big moment.

+ Kosher for Passover Coke sightings have started to come in.

+ We put together a sampler platter of reaction to the proposed ban on restaurants using salt in food.

+ Troy is continuing its effort to land the Google Fiber project.

+ And Kaitlin went shopping for stripes.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
