A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-06-05

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Does the Megabus have some competition now?

+ You know all those lists and rankings that Capital Region appears on? We decided to make a list of those lists.

+ Refreshing.

+ The most popular baby names in New York State last year had a familiar ring.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: stopping to help, Mexican food, a deep-fried burger, Caribbean cuisine, Indian food, pizza, tofu, wild trysts, nightlife, movie rentals, Bolton Landing and formal wear.

+ Thankfully, Rowdy the Rat found a new home.

+ A whole bunch of law enforcement agencies announced they'll be closely monitoring alcohol usage around SPAC this summer -- which prompted a lot of discussion.

+ Kaitlin went swimsuit shopping.

+ Mike posted photos from the Awesomely Adult Prom.

+ Kirsten Gillibrand plays squash with Al Franken.

+ We talked with an RPI professor who's one of the contestants on Bravo's Work of Art reality competition show.

+ A few of the items founds on Craigslist this week: a baby hedgehog, out of place hipsters, fossil hunting and the search for a Miranda, Charlotte, or Samantha.

+ Lisa asked about local spots with good trivia nights.

+ We watched a clip in which Emily gave a tour of her backyard chicken setup in Troy.

+ The Latham SPUI project is nearing the halfway point.

+ A new local online farmers market opened Friday.

+ And B had a bright idea.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea or photo this week!
