A quick recap of the week

week review 2012-03-10

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Soapbox: Kim shared some lessons she learned from "one of the toughest old birds you would ever want to meet."

+ Daniel checked out the new Penzeys Spices store in Crossgates.

+ Jen asked about good places to get a pedicure around Albany.

+ We got to meet the Albany double dutch team that's headed to Japan for a tournament.

+ After a roadside conversation with a state trooper, Mike asked about where he could his car windows untinted.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: abused art, an inspiring crowd, Price Chopper, dermatologists, themed bike rides, making sausage, saying no, a slow food fast food burger, Oscar's, magic eggplant, a croissant battle, 18th century Starbucks, Pittsfield, Phantogram, and surprised clerks.

+ We talked with InYourSpeakers' Derek Duoba about the local music shows the website is producing.

+ Following a discussion this week about chain supermarkets and food deserts, we mapped the supermarkets in the Capital Region to see what sort of access there is grocery shopping.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a double missed connection, a guy in search of Mrs. Robinson, a 200-year-old house, and very cute goats.

+ Elisabeth pulled a lot of better local ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

+ We answered some more questions people asked via Google.

+ The AOA birthday party filled up fast! if you're still interested in attending, please sign up on the waiting list. There's a good chance spots will open.

+ And thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Metroland poll.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared a photo or idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
