A quick recap of the week

week review 2014-01-25

Here are a few highlights from the past short week on AOA:

+ We talked with the competitors from this year's Barista Albany competition about coffee culture in the Capital Region.

+ When you have moment, you should watch this Martin Luther King Jr. speech that was recently found in the State Museum's archive.

+ Jeff recommended the non-traditional COB pizza at Red Front.

+ Kathy asked for couples therapists suggestions.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: no cause for shame, things that don't matter, complaining about complaining, leaving, Hudson, Minnewaska, Dippikill, otters, a dream window, wine and dining, show-stealing chicken, Mass beer, pizza, disco fries, wet t-shirts.

+ That time the Capital Region included four of the nation's 100 biggest cities.

+ Sunny asked about finding a boxing gym.

+ Among the items found on Craigslist this week: a really cute goat buckling.

+ We looked at Capital Region home prices for 2013 -- it appears the tide is going up in the local market.

+ Andrew asked for furniture repair shop suggestions. (We could probably use one or two more suggestions for this one.)

+ Siobhan asked, for a friend, about where to go shopping for a wedding a dress. There were a lot of good, detailed suggestions.

+ And because it's a cold winter weekend, a chili recipe from Greg.

Here's the whole week all lined up.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
