A quick recap of the week
Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:
+ Yet another week of concert announcements, including: Bruce Springsteen at the TU Center, Diana Ross at the Palace, John Legend at Proctors, The Hold Steady at The Hollow, Joshua Bell with the ASO at the Palace.
+ We gave away tickets to the SPAC Winter Ball by asking: What would be a fun Capital Region Olympic event?
+ Lauren talked with the creator of Flower Scout.
+ You know that snow that builds up where the sidewalk meets the street, blocking the path -- what is that called?
+ Kara asked about finding a shared workshop space.
+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: the Olympics, Lake Placid, a 1970s winter, staying warm, 6-cent redemption, pineapple rings, Portsmouth and Portland, The Moth, coffee shops, wine at rest, Price Chopper, a snowman and a half, and Merten's & Phalen's.
+ An odd bit of local history: there were once pedestrian tunnels under Central Ave. (We want to find out more about this.)
+ Duncan Crary argued that the development team for the Monument Square project in Troy should go back to the drawing board on its architecture.
+ Among the items found on Craigslist this week: the meet cute.
+ Lauren checked out Pin Up's Blow Bar in Saratoga Springs.
+ And it's been some winter, huh.
Here's the whole week all lined up.
Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!
(Thanks, Tim!)
