A quick recap of the week

week in review 2008-11-15

Here are some highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Sebastien sent a long a very funny mashup he did of the Saratoga formal wear horse vandals video.

+ The presidential inauguration could be one long trip.

+ The leaves can be beautiful -- even after they're gone.

+ As Amy found out, The early bird gets exactly the turkey they want.

+ Marv Cermak needs a blog.

+ Jess told us about the Heroes of Troy project.

+ An RPI professor was involved with a very well organized New York Times hoax.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: election night, birthdays, values, kids and freezer cases.

+ EMPAC showed a "scratchable" movie, which Sebastien said made him want to put a fork through his eyes. But Troy Represent said it was "very interesting," "challenging" and "fun."

+ David Paterson unveiled his proposed budget cuts. We put together a very quick overview of the plan.

+ Amy checked out the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Albany -- which, as local thrift stores go, is where it's at.

+ Jess tasted the salsa that Bombers is now selling in stores.

+ There's a lot of local craftiness coming up.

+ It sounds like a Dinosaur Barbeque is coming to the Capital Region. Probably. And people had some thoughts on possible locations.

+ If chamber of commerce is looking for a new slogan, it could do a lot worse than "My happy place! Land of cheese and fluffy beds!"

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who sent along ideas, corrections and comments this week -- especially Sebastien for sending along the great video.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
