A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-09-18

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

Local Food Week!

+ Lauren made a beautiful local breakfast for dinner.

+ Leah told us about making her local high holidays meal.

+ Celina used her freezer cow to make kabobs.

+ Daniel B constructed a local ham sandwich.

+ And we asked people about their favorite local food -- and got a bunch of good responses.

When we weren't focused on delicious local items...

+ Judi asked about a good place to donate furniture and clothing.

+ The Latham SPUI is now open.

+ Terry asked about hospice care for pets.

+ Annine Everson wants you to break her art.

+ Sebastien passed along photos from the SunKiss Balloon Festival.

+ Carl Paladino won the Republican primary for governor.

+ We got our first crack at the new voting machines... and it left us -- and others -- a little cold.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: a sobering moment, a no-name coffee spot, Mr. Pio Pio, the Tour de Donut, the Wine and Food Festival, cool cars, the Adirondacks, the Wine 'N Diner, cuteness, scolding, a donut-making robot and table theft.

+ Jim asked about a good watch repair place.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: Clark Kent, proper attention for hooping, and a really old penny.

+ The Writers Institute fall schedule is out.

+ The Capital Region's unemployment rate is stuck.

+ MattW asked about good corn mazes -- we're still looking for some suggestions on that one.

+ And eight more pizzerias have a spot in this year's Tournament of Pizza thanks to the crowd vote.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea or photo this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
