A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-12-04

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Lucas' question about finding a good photo of the Albany skyline prompted a lot of suggestions.

+ Carl told us about the "Dissected Maps" that were made in Troy.

+ Perhaps coming to road near you this winter: beet juice.

+ EMPAC is being scouted as a possible location for the next Iron Man movie.

+ Pete shared another great time lapse video shot in/around Albany.

+ Greg asked about ways to keep the skin on his hands from drying out and cracking during the winter -- people had a whole bunch of suggestions.

+ We took at look some old soles at the Albany Institute of History and Art.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Thanksgiving, being polite, a parade of demons, retail past, pleasant customer service, a happy potion, hot dogs, date night, an artistic appetizer, apartment complexes, Rensselaer, Canada, Albany after dark, and the return of Mr. Dave.

+ We gave away tickets to the Hellions bout this weekend by asking people about good ways to get Santa's "nice" list.

+ Local band DRYER has a special Christmas message.

+ Jess kicked off our series of local holiday gift ideas with seeds from the Hudson Valley Seed Library.

+ Among the items found on Craigslist this week: desire for a deliberate rendezvous, thoughts of hot cubicle monkey sex, and a horsehair couch.

+ We scanned the list of local orgs that are currently in the running for Pepsi Refresh money.

+ Katie put together a good list of local options for cutting your own Christmas tree.

+ And Sebastien shared some really nice photos from the Victorian Streetwalk in Saratoga.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
