A quick recap of the week

week review 2011-06-11

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Soapbox: Kim is giddy about Troy's waterfront.

+ Carl told us about "the society of young ladies" was used (at least once) to influence the state legislature.

+ TechyDad asked about finding space he could rent or use to make a presentation to clients.

+ The Albany chickens saga came to an end (for now).

+ We asked people what they'd steal from the Capital Region as part of a ticket giveaway for the upcoming Company of Thieves show.

+ Eat this: the breakfast sausage at Dan's Place Two.

+ Chad asked about finding affordable Indonesian food.

+ We shamelessly exploited the cuteness of cuddling ducklings.

+ A car crashed into the New World Bistro Bar after a guy allegedly tried to run down his girlfriend's ex.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: face ripping, prayer, Roy McDonald, the hall of fame, Mountain Jam, Oakwood Cemetery, drooling over abs, a trail run, pork, the first CSA box, trust, beer, meat markets, eggs, Schoharie County, rock climbing, a rescued duckling, and garbage.

+ Tickets went on sale for this year's Restoration Festival.

+ It hailed. And then there were rainbows.

+ Mary asked about finding a good local bakery for cookies.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a dime-a-dozen Craigslist guy, the search for a four-legged mutant monster, a beer pong table, and Teddy Ruxpin.

+ Casey's going to enter the River Street Festival street painting contest for us.

+ After it came out that the Saratoga Springs police chief had texted an explicit photo of himself from city hall, we broke down the all important question: Should I text a pic of my junk?

+ Strawberry season has started, so we pulled together some local pick your own spots.

+ And the return of the ever-popular bumper gawking.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
