A quick recap of the week

week in review composite 2008-08-09

Shopping, submerging, eating, drinking.

Here are some highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We pushed our cart through the EPCOT of supermarket aisles.

+ New York's second largest urban nature preserve (after NYC's Central Park) is... in Arbor Hill?

+ Eat this: tarts from Dutch Desserts.

+ Carmen's is now without Carmen.

+ We found out why, meteorologically speaking, it's been so rainy so this summer.

+ Speaking of rain, we got way too much of it on Thursday. Behold, Lake Hackett.

+ We checked out the great deals at the Pass It On Sale for kids stuff.

+ Drink here: the Adelphi.

+ How to save some cash during a day in Saratoga.

+ Saratoga Chips this week: George Washington slurped here, the Governor who saved the springs, the not so Grand Union Hotel, It's 10 o'clock. Do you know what time it is?, and O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A.

+ We mapped out the Capital Region Ice Cream Tour. And a few people said we missed some spots.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

The Scoop
