A quick recap of the week

week in review 2008-10-12

Here are some highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Sebastien sent along video clips from a handful of EMPAC performances -- and some of them are kind of weird.

+ According to one analysis, the Capital Region is already in a recession.

+ We asked people for the scoop on Tesoro, the new Italian restaurant in Guilderland. The super quick summary: good red sauce, service might need some help.

+ Amy tracked down how to buy a whole cow.

+ Jess told us about the big bust up on the local roller derby scene.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: the chip fab, another tale of Smalbany, popcorn, disappointing meals, an egg mystery, and geeky girls.

+ Jess put together a bunch of tips about how to find interesting gluten-free food in the Capital Region.

+ The "Langdon from Ballston Spa, NY" from the presidential debate is Langdon Jenkins.

+ We had some pizza from the new Townsend Park Bakery -- and we'll be going to back to try it again.

+ Amy told us about The Pottery Place at Stuyvesant Plaza.

+ Who doesn't shop for their own groceries? A lot of people, apparently.

+ The BO55LADY was just one of the things we noticed scanning through Craigslist this week.

+ A peek at the Taking Woodstock shoot in Columbia County.

+ Does it matter which local dry cleaner you take your stained shirt to? Yes, it does.

Thanks to everyone who sent us great stuff this week. We appreciate it.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
