A quick recap of the week

week review 2008-10-25

Here are some highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Joe the Plumber really gets around.

+ Amy told us about a local place that makes some tasty vegan baked goods.

+ We stacked up a bunch of local property tax increases to see how they compare.

+ The presidential candidates who's raised the most money in the Capital Region... is not Barack Obama.

+ Melissa told us about Cat Mazza, a very cool craftivist.

+ We sampled a few things at Creo.

+ Amy gave us the scoop on A.J. Wright -- the discount store also sells sells Gucci!?!

+ New-to-us affliction: "failure to file syndrome."

+ Jess tasted the pumpkin pietini at Bomber's.

+ Talked about in the Neighborhood this week: the death of Richard Bailey, customer service, Thanksgiving, Korean food, librarians and Buffy.

+ And, of course, this week marked the beginning of The Tournament of Pizza. There were a handful of upsets in Round 1. Results: Saratoga | Schenectady | Troy | Albany.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who sent in tips, updates and corrections this week. As always, we appreciate it. Special thanks to Lou for pulling together the info for a map of the TOP pizzerias.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
