A quick recap of the week

week review 2008-11-22

Here are some highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Eliot Spitzer offered some advice for Barack Obama.

+ Amy checked out Blue Fiddle Gifts.

+ Apparently there's a better way to get your oil changed.

+ The Capitol press corps found some new workspace -- with wine.

+ We surveyed local movie ticket prices.

+ As Amy told us, that's a wrap!

+ Chelsea asked people for ideas about where to volunteer -- and a lot of people, well, volunteered suggestions.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: trolley poles, lost relatives, hidden dangers, strange cargo, wax lions and Christmas music.

+ State government did its best Jerry Springer Show impression.

+ We tried to get a sense of what to expect from The Standard, the soon-to-open restaurant at Crossgates.

+ Jess talked with Biff at the Blue Note Record Shop, a temple of vinyl.

+ Recently on Craigslist: Stewart's, infection, cute girls in casts, a gorgeous bus driver, "clunky" heels, and tarantulas.

+ A golf course just made it's seasonal turn into a great place to take a walk with your dog.

+ And what's a Green Depot?

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who sent along ideas, corrections and comments this week -- especially Chelsea for asking about place to volunteer.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
