A quick recap of the week

week review 2008-12-06

Here are some highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Amy came upon The Glitter Jesus in a local bookstore.

+ News to us: it's OK to be drunk at work.

+ We checked out the blog for GE's Global Research Center -- though it seems people were also checking out something else.

+ We broke down the list of potential replacements for Hillary Clinton.

+ Saratoga's First Night celebration is going to feature... a flaming figure eight.

+ In case you hadn't heard, Joe Bruno is all about sunshine now.

+ A St. Rose professor wrote about the frosty reception he and his wife have gotten after using IVF. That set off a conversation that lasted all week.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: bus fares, Ayn Rand, airport betting, chili pepper lights, missed connections and sandwiches.

+ Heritage Park has really let itself go.

+ Eliot Spitzer got a new job.

+ Amy checked out the selection at Uncle Sam's Candy in Schenectady.

+ Happy birthday, Martin Van Buren.

+ For that hard-to-buy-for person on your list: a cremation niche.

+ And Jess told us about Serpentine Hair products, which are made right in downtown Albany by Kim Wingfield.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who sent along ideas, corrections and comments this week.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
