A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-04-17

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ This week's MyExit person was Paul Coleman (AKA Mount Mole)

+ Schenectady is getting an upscale Mexican spot.

+ Jess visited Timothy's, a Guyanese market in Schenectady.

+ The trailer for The Other Guys popped up online and you can see Albany in a few shots.

+ Sebastien and B's Urban Decay Tour of the (Greater) Capital Regionâ„¢ continued with a stop in the Hudson Valley.

+ Carl told us about history of Albany's Lincoln Park -- it involves beer, bricks and beavers.

+ Two guys are organizing a fan-funded music fest in Saratoga this summer.

+ We heard from the local founder of a dating website that aims to match people who are... opposites.

+ Rob sent along photos from the Tea Party Express rally near the Capitol.

+ With the help of WEXT, we gave away tickets to see Jakob Dylan at The Egg. (One of the winners' middle names is Dylan. Awesome.)

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: open houses, porcupines, messages from the pump, Maestro's, a birthday dinner, a satisfying meal, doughnuts, Gregory Maguire, kind cyclists, peeping, water heaters, blossoms and a zen moment.

+ A premium wireless internet access service debuted in Albany.

+ Larry gave us a few tips on what to plant -- and not plant -- in our yards this year.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: a found 3 ct diamond ring, naked guitar lessons and guinea pig arbitrage.

+ Dawn told us about the baby animals at Hancock Shaker Village.

+ Kaitlin went suit shopping for women.

+ And that was a really blue sky.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
