A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-04-24

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Sebastien sent along video from the Rube Goldberg Challenge.

+ Dawn told us about a greenhouse that helps plants -- and kids -- grow.

+ Stick Figure Man asked about ways to keep squirrels off her tulips (one idea: coyote pee).

+ This way to an ongoing discussion about fonts and road signs.

+ We pulled together a peloton of links to photos from the Tour of the Battenkill pro race -- and some video from Amy and Aaron.

+ Kaitlin checked out the new, "almost mind-bogglingly huge" Forever 21 at Crossgates.

+ Chrystal won tickets to see Diplo at EMPAC.

+ Lots of alleged scandal this week: on stage, on Pedro Espada, on a boat.

+ A research study conducted at UAlbany concluded that tanning could be addictive.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: people who can't be pleased, high heels, tax day, dog meetups, Cafe Capriccio, cotton candy, a sushi buffet, a sunglasses-wearing cupcake, a breakfast burrito, yarn, Rensselaer, auto body shops and the Tang.

+ Well, if you're gonna go, there are worse ways than bacon.

+ A few of the items fond on Craigslist this week: a hot census worker, a guy who'd like to get milk, poker lessons from a pro and a car wash vacuum cleaner.

+ Mindy asked about where she should buy a bike.

+ We ordered food using Mealeo.

+ Erik told us about lifting at Albany Strength.

+ @HealthyDelish asked about local places to buy foie gras.

+ It was Albany, the board game.

+ And what if the state budget was a video game.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea or photo this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
