A quick recap of the week

week review 2013-03-20

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

It was AOA's birthday week, which meant lots of drawings -- with lots of fun answers...

+ How would you want to celebrate your birthday in the Capital Region?

+ What's your favorite Capital Region road trip?

+ What's the best thing about being five?

+ What's your favorite AOA story, recurring feature, item, or thing of all time?

+ What's your favorite local sign of spring?
____

+ The Capital Region has a new last-chance post office for tax day (it happens to be the last-chance post office on other days, too).

+ We looked at the most popular baby names in the Capital Region over the last few years.

+ Daniel highlighted the new-school tater tots at Comfort Kitchen.

+ Mike asked about where to get top soil (and, we added, gravel, mulch, and other stuff like that).

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Boston, the light in the dark, tragedy, movie shoots, car dealers, Dippikill, the lust for sensationalism, self defense, dashing, the Brook Tavern, sashimi, gems in Schenectady, Iron Throne, an ethical dilemma, and steak gone awry.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: fear for the livelihood of lady parts, being walked like a dog, mementos, and tepee rental.

+ Casey rounded up a bunch of food challenges in the Capital Region. This quote made us laugh: A buddy of mine tried it and got to 35 hot dogs in about 15 minutes. But then he got cocky and started doing sit ups. But then he had to take a trip to the bathroom... let's just say he lost."

+ New York is now the Yogurt Empire State.

+ And here are a bunch of photos from AOA's birthday party. Thank you to everyone for celebrating with us this week.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
