A quick recap of the week

week review 2013-10-04

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We gave away tickets to ASAP's annual Festival of Meats by asking: What are your favorite Capital Region guilty pleasures?

+ The official word arrived that All Good Bakers has closed.

+ Jeff recommended the apple pie from Green Acres Farm in Columbia County: "very individual element -- the crust, the fruit, the filling -- is worth raving about."

+ Phantogram has a new EP, they're playing here in December, and they were scheduled to appear on Jimmy Fallon Friday night.

+ We gave away a big bag of prizes from Honest Weight's Local Harvest Festival by asking: What's your favorite local thing to share with people who are not from the Capital Region?

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Ragnar, love and hate, suggestions, a Troy neighborhood, gorgeous days, the Adirondacks, monarchs, chicken parm, Round Lake, sandwiches, apples, Wegmans, an outgoing person, a waterwheel, faster than a walk, an hour's difference, the solar system.

+ Allison asked for local suggestions for a 1920s-themed wedding.

+ A weird moment from Troy: a giant potato.

+ Among the items found on Craigslist this week: a carousel goat.

+ Troy unveiled a new crime map -- and we had a few thoughts about it.

And that most august tradition -- The Tournament of Pizza -- made its return:

+ The brackets for this year's tournament, including an all-new-to-the-TOP first round.

+ The judges for this year.

+ TOP2013: Round 1: Saratoga

+ TOP2013: Round 1: Schenectady

+ TOP2013: Round 1: Troy

+ TOP2013: Round 1: Albany

Here's the whole week all lined up.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
