A quick recap of the week

week review 2014-10-04

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We gave away a big basket of items from the Local Harvest Festival by asking: What's something local that you like to share with people who don't live here?

+ The exciting resolution to the Schenectady yearbook laser cat saga.

+ The Palace's premier movies series slate is out for the 2014-2015 season.

+ PR asked about what to do with old chinaware.

+ We gave away tickets to Cirque du Soleil at the TU Center by asking: What's something in the Capital Region that would qualify as a "circus"?

+ Deanna indulged her autumnal longing for cheese with grilled cheese at The Cheese Traveler.

+ A planning org designated Arbor Hill as one of the nation's great neighborhoods.

+ What was up in The Neighborhood this week: the 46th peak, autumnal scenes, paddling, Rensselaer, red light cameras, Tournament of Pizza, meatballs, sample zombies, Nibble, Grille at 138, healthy eating, crepes, kitchen equipment, life-changing jam, artwork, and raptors.

+ Becky asked about finding a good endocrinologist.

+ The past is another place: The Hawk Street Viaduct.

+ Alison asked about finding a calligraphy class. (We could still use a few suggestions on this one.)

+ We took a quick trip to Vroman's Nose.

+ Because all the great weather lately: the "nicest" weather days of 2014 (so far), ranked.

And it was the opening round of the 2014 Tournament of Pizza, sponsored by Keeler Mini!

+ Mama Mia's v 5th and 50

+ Mario's vs. Marino's

+ I Love vs. DeFazio's
