A quick recap of the week

week review 2012-06-02

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Soapbox: Kim talked about her anger and frustration with the gun problem in Troy.

+ It was Supermarket Week! Nicole got things started with a comparison of the home delivery services from ShopRite and Price Chopper.

+ Wendy shared some of the things that annoy her in the supermarket.

+ We pulled eight lines (or thereabout) from eight local commencement speeches.

+ Predication pool: When will the Wolf Road Trader Joe's open?

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Memorial Day, Blue Zones, the oldest, the Madison Theatre, a weekend in Eden, pleasing eyefuls, the Tour de Hard Ice Cream, unexpected sushi chefs, Italian food in Saratoga, bright menus, turkey, hotels, and ghost signs.

+ It's the annual supermarket price comparison: Supermarket Showdown V. Could ShopRite change the game?

+ The state's tourism arm is playing off the iconic "I (heart) NY" logo.

+ Scotia's Laura LaFrate was in the final of America's Next Top Model.

+ Siobhan wrote about how she goes to the supermarket -- for peace, for wisdom.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: Mr. Slingerlands Price Chopper, intoxicated eyes, a giant light bulbs, and a chicken plucker.

+ A conversation about whether Wegmans is really worth all that adoration (lots of good comments).

+ And we toured some of the farms in the Albany County Hilltowns.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.
