A quick recap of the week

week review 2014-06-28

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We gave away tickets to the Hidden City House & Garden Tour (and a Crisan gift certificate) by asking: What is your favorite piece of Capital Region history?

+ A roundup of when local pools open for the season. (Spoilers: Many are now open.)

+ A pilot program will be trying out bike sharing around the Capital Region's cities this summer.

+ Deanna recommended the meze at Ali Baba in Troy.

+ Mary asked about local contractors/options for rooftop solar.

+ CD asked about restaurants with good vegetarian options.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: Eve of Destruction, a scam, an outrageous example, garage doors of doom, Round Lake Antiques Festival, Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, The Beast, Lisha Kill Preserve, World of Beer, a disappointing and confusing experience, Mexican Radio, strawberry scones, kebabs, feeling sorry for Eileen, and a new book.

+ With all the attention on the World Cup, we figured it'd be interesting to look at a reflection of Brazil in Albany. Yep, Albany.

+ What is that new structure atop the Corning Tower?

+ Alexis ran through some of the drive-in theaters around the area.

+ The popular Slidin' Dirty food truck is getting a restaurant.

+ And this is the hat.

Here's the whole week all lined up.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea or photo this week!

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

What's All Over Albany?

All Over Albany is for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. In other words, it's for you. It's kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who can help you find out what's up. Oh, and our friends call us AOA.
