A quick recap of the week

week review 2016-01-30

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ Deirdre asked about where to take foreign language classes for adults.

+ We got the Tournament of Pizza band back together to try out Blaze Pizza at Stuyvesant Plaza.

+ G asked about good coffee shops for working.

+ Check out our updated listing of ice skating spots around the Capital Region.

+ Caffe Lena is starting some major renovations.

+ We gave away tickets to see PostSecret at Proctors + a Cafe NOLA gift card by asking: What's your secret super power?

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: sick days, The Cheese Traveler, the Hot Spot, pizza, chicken and waffles, wings, Olde Bryan Inn, bourbon, spaghetti and meatballs, the Bob & Ron's sign, paying for media, geology and destiny, spires, Spruce Mountain, an island in a frozen lake, a pub run, past curfew, and waving goodbye.

+ A quick scan of the Sundance reviews for As You Are, movie that filmed in/around Albany last year.

+ A local company is getting a Super Bowl TV ad. (Really.)

+ M. asked about balls or other occasions for getting all dressed up and going dancing. (We could use a few more suggestions for this one.)

+ The group pushing for protected bike lanes in Albany is making a new pitch.

+ A look at Historic Albany's new endangered buildings list.

+ And the really big mixed-use project on Clinton Ave in downtown Albany that never was.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or shared an idea this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
