A quick recap of the week

week review 2012-07-27

Here are a few highlights from the past holiday week on AOA:

+ Mary was a judge for Hat Day at the Track.

+ Casey looked at why Ommegang has become a concert destination.

+ Here's a roundup of upcoming county fairs around the Capital Region.

+ Daniel sampled 12 flavors at the Ice Cream Man in order to find his favorites.

+ Dianne asked about finding a good used bookstore -- there were a lot of good suggestions.

+ Behold, Ryan Gosling in the The Place Beyond the Pines (the shot-in-Schenectady film is debuting soon).

+ Sean Rowe was in the Wall Street Journal. There's Phantogram ice cream.

+ Here's the lineup for this year's Pearl Palooza festival.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: a scam, lights on Lark Street, people who made a mark on the world, wine tasting, postcards from paradise, New Paltz, a day at the beach, pangs of nostalgia at Price Chopper, the Troy Dance Factory, turning in the foodie badge, ice cream sandwiches, Comfort Kitchen, gazpacho, baklava ice cream, wedding bands, camouflaged invaders, and a big bet.

+ We gave away tickets to the Capital Region Craft Brewers Festival by asking: Before summer rounds third and heads home, what's one thing you want to make sure you do?

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: an important question at the Ruck, attraction at the landfill, a ferret found, a goat that will get the job done.

+ We checked out the Berkshire Botanical Garden.

+ The Giants are back at UAlbany.

+ And Casey got the scoop on the world of vanilla ice cream at Moxie's.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
