A quick recap of the week

week review 2010-08-21

Here are a few highlights from the past week on AOA:

+ We went for a hike at the Huyck Preserve in Rensselaerville.

+ Martin asked about a good place to get a bunch photos printed.

+ It sounds like the Wilco-curated Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA was a good time.

+ Jess was all over Cohoes. She took a stroll down Remsen Street.

+ And she stopped in at the Harmony House Marketplace.

+ And she tasted the barbecue at the Pig Pit, which is gearing up for a showdown versus the Dinosaur.

+ A national survey reported that New York has the highest costs for closing on a house.

+ Courtney asked about finding a good yoga class.

+ What was up in the Neighborhood this week: he Post Office, the ER, a quick exit, the winners' circle, bathrooms, the Adirondacks, a basil thief, Katrinella's, Hatties's, Beekman Street Bistro, Yono's, the racino, booze and a groundhog.

+ The Fresh Market opened in Latham -- and Daniel B braved the crowds to check it out for us.

+ A few of the items found on Craigslist this week: six-toed kittens, opening wide at the oral surgeon, a man in uniform and a drunk parrot fountain.

+ Tyler White is a lumberjack -- and he's OK.

+ And Sebastien sent along some fun photos from the US Water Ski Show Team in Scotia.

If you'd just like the whole week unfiltered, check our listing of the last seven days of AOA.

Thanks to everyone who posted a comment or sent along an idea or photo this week!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
